At Louisiana Ag Credit, we recognize that the future of rural America depends on the next generation of agricultural producers. That's why we offer a special loan program for 4-H and FFA members. We also are proud to sponsor a variety of organizations that educate young, beginning and small farmers.

4-H and FFA Producer Loan Program

The 4-H/FFA Producer Program is designed to encourage young people to pursue agricultural careers. Under this program, Louisiana Ag Credit makes low-interest loans to students participating in qualified 4-H and FFA projects.

There is a limited amount of funding allocated for this program; therefore, loan requests will be processed until the total limit is reached.

Young, Beginning and Small Farmers

It takes money to make money in farming, and this is especially true for people just entering the business. Louisiana Ag Credit may be able to provide the credit you need to start or expand your farming operation. If you fit into one of the following categories, talk to one of our loan officers about ways we may be able to help with your credit needs.

• Young farmer - a farmer, rancher, or producer or harvester of aquatic products who is age 35 or younger as of the loan transaction date.
• Beginning farmer - a farmer, rancher, or producer or harvester of aquatic products who has 10 years or less farming, ranching or aquatic experience as of the loan transaction date.
• Small farmer - a farmer, rancher, or producer or harvester of aquatic products who normally generates less than $250,000 in annual gross sales of agricultural or aquatic products.
